I have had a wee break from the Lake house project! I was lucky enough to head away to do some filming (of me!) talking about how Mastercraft Kitchens with Hamish Dodd for a show called “The café” on weekdays after Paul Henry.
Not gonna lie, I was SO nervous. First shoot, I stumbled on a couple of words… lost all content. It’s amazing what happens when a camera and what feels like a million eyes and two million lights are pointing at you does to ya! Suddenly I knew nothing about kitchens! I gave myself a lecture. I literally said to the producer “hang on a minute please…” and I stood in silence- (I hope) and gave myself a full-on lecture… went something like this- “Just speak Reido! You know how to talk; you know what you’re on about… just do it!” and I did. By shoot four, day two, Hamish and I were tired but had a system going and I felt like I was so much better! Less painful for Hamish and the crew to have to deal with. Time will tell when we see it on the telly I suppose!
Very excited to be heading back for another two days filming in a couple weeks on site at new locations. The Mastercraft Kitchens I am talking in are amazing. A very talented team created them and they are certainly very easy to talk about.
So I have come back at the easy stage of the build as there are only expert subbies on site! Gib stoppers in there this week. You will be pleased to know the house looks big again- or just right. So pleased we are past the too small stage…
Jason & Drew are working on fixing the schist to the front entry and chimney, and it looks fab. Can’t wait to see the Cedar go up on all the corners and around the windows outside. When my little human wakes from his nap, I am going to set out to look for a suitable oil/ stain… here we go again… not to red, not too brown and not too orange. Please. Man, they must hate me at Resene!
Right, here are some pics…
My first shoot... eek! Can you see the fear!
Day 2 shoot 1... LOVE this kitchen
Be back soon with some house updates!
