… Is a saying I have heard often… and I get it.
This is where we are right now. I told ya’all this day would come. Tired, Over it…. And feeling like we have made the wrong decision to build this.
As you are aware, this is an investment property. We won’t be living in this house- but you wouldn’t know it. Blood sweat and tears have gone into this house, just like any other one of our houses. We are approaching the part of the build that is expensive, money is always tighter at this end. At the start, ya feel rich! No expense spared, it feels like monopoly money. I am carefully considering where every penny goes now more than ever.
It’s also pointy as when things go wrong, or just not our way, taking longer, breaking something (I accidentally bogged over some fresh silicone… my lord, I was on the shit list for hours! It was literally a 5 cent piece worth of damage but…) everything gets taken to heart! Every scrape, knock or trip hurts more and every over spend is less sleep had. But we are almost there… almost. And with a bit of help from our favorite subies & apprentice Drew, we will get there soon.
This week- I am singing off the flooring. I am opting for a Timber floating floor. So Its real timber, pressed onto a substrate, allowing for two sands/ refinished in its life.
Gas fire is being installed and then, Gib can go on.
I would help but I am jetting off to Auckland to be filmed talking about Mastercraft kitchens & design with another designer (who has LOTS of TV experience including his own show… Oh dear!) I really feel like I would be far better fixing gib in my natural habitat… but super excited for the opportunity. I hope to do my Mastercraft Kitchens family proud.
Like I said at the start, its never dull in the Reid- Patterson house-hold is it? Sometimes I wish it was!
This flooring... entry, kitchen & dining. (Flooring Xtra)
This fire- Black on Black.
