Sorry about the huge break in posts! I assure you I have not been on holiday! I have lots of exciting kitchen designs on the go at the moment and in all (not much) my spare time I have been helping build! Putting linea up in-fact. Bit of a boring job if I’m honest- Not my favorite. It’s Up there with filling tiny holes with plaster goo, tying steel or cutting the foam away from around windows. But I am not complaining.

So we are making great headway! We had pre-wire & pre-plumb last week! This is going to sound weird, but I absolutely love the buzz of a busy building site! Hi-viz humans working hard threading cable & pipe… feels like progress! Its loud, and everyone is happy and all just getting stuck in! It reminds me of my first real encounter with the building industry. I was 17 or 18 years old and my first full time job included partially working for a local builder. He had me delivering cheques (showing my age here aren’t I!) to his subbies on site. I remember pulling to Allison Crescent in Moorcroft… wow… now this was a building boom! Everywhere you looked there was someone busy building, pouring… or singing… ! It was a cool vibe, and I suppose, from that job on, I was hooked on the building industry.

Back on track. This week I am ordering Oak. Oak bathroom & toilet bench tops. AND the all important steel brackets that are going to give said Oak beach tops the floating look.  Here’s a tip! If you are building/ renovating and want something to "float", make sure you put steel support brackets in the wall before the gib goes on.  Or at least make the decision that you want something floating before the gib goes on. Ya builder will love you for it- Its so much easier than making shelves etc float retrospectively. Currently in the good books with my builder after a few days in the not so good books… lets hope I stay good!

Oh and lastly, I have ordered a brushed brass kitchen mixer!  Its going to be the jewelry on the outfit which is the kitchen. I cant wait to see it!

A nice view from the soffits!

This sink mixer- Plumbline Buddy Brushed Brass.
